When I became curious about Queening chairs and Smothering Boxes I did extensive research and found mostly overpriced cheaply built furniture. I wanted something with structural integrity, comfortable, and of course at a reasonable price. Most were $300 to $500, of questionable quality and comfort, so I decided to design and build my own. My designs are created so the persons head is in a comfortable position without the need of anything beyond perhaps a small pillow. This chair has 2 inches of padding on the seat and backrest pillow. It is covered in a water resistant stretchy faux pleather vinyl fabric. It is closer to a Queening chair in height than a Smothering Box.

As there are variables in trees, such as knots, the grain and other imperfections where strength can not be guaranteed, the same applies to my items where I can not make any absolute claims as to what maximum amount of weight or type of use they can endure. This chair is made out of what is often called sheathing plywood and repurposed wood so it does have a rough finish.
